Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both parts of the question: you suggest that buying a home can reduce long-term housing costs, and you present home ownership as positive because it offers freedom to decorate. These are relevant reasons, and the Diwali example gives one point some support. However, the explanation of why ownership matters in some countries remains limited: the claim that governments provide benefits is introduced only in the conclusion and is not explained. The financial comparison is also too absolute, since buying a home involves more than a one-time payment. Your positive position is apparent, but the discussion is repetitive and several ideas, such as investment, are asserted rather than developed. Explain each reason with a clearer cause-and-effect link and a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the reader can identify the main topics of financial savings and personal freedom. You also use linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “Meanwhile” and “In addition.” However, progression within paragraphs is often mechanical: repeated phrases such as “another one” and “to be more specific” do not always clarify how ideas relate. Some references are unclear, particularly “these gives” and “this investment,” and the conclusion repeats earlier points rather than drawing them together. Organise each body paragraph around one main reason, then explain and illustrate it in sequence; use pronouns only when their reference is unmistakable.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a small range of topic-related vocabulary, including “renting,” “financial benefits,” “freedom” and “investment,” which makes the general subject clear. However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations are inaccurate or repetitive, sometimes making meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “owning a home is save much amount of money,” “take high amount of money” and “freedom to arrangement.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “contr ies” (written as “contr ies” in the response), “stess” and “arrgement.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. Replacing repeated general terms with precise phrases for costs, security and personal choice would make the argument clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including explanations introduced by “because” and “for example.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in basic sentence patterns as well as in longer attempts. For instance, “owning a home is save” lacks a correct verb form, “renting a home is take” is incorrectly constructed, and “owning a home give” has subject–verb disagreement. Articles and sentence structure are also problematic in “we don't need take permission of owner.” These errors can make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Practise forming accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses while checking verb forms, agreement, articles and punctuation.
