IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In some countries owning a home rather than renting one is very important for people. Why might this be the case? Do you think this is a positive or negative situation?
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people prefer to living in your own home instead of they living a such home whose pay rent for it. From my perspective, it is a positive condition because they have no tension to pay rent for every month and take changes own home.
In the beginning, if people have their own residents, they will not be in difficult condition because no payment going to owner of home. paying rent in every month is a dramatic problem and some are unable to pay its in very easy way. Although, often people have many limited resources and their financial condition is very low. Therefore, Government should help these kinds of people, construct apartments for them rather than to keep them in a bad condition, For example, in Pakistan there are many people that have no own homes, they live in rental houses. So, Government should provide own houses for them.
Furthermore, people do variations own home. In rental house, there are many limitations apply from the owners. They don't apply different things such as decoretion, they don't allow for this activity. Even if people want to change some setting of home in the roof, they don't permission for that activity. For example, in Bangladesh people don't make changes in any part of the room but this facility available in your own homes to change every thing.
In conclusion, living in own homes is a best thing because no burdon of paying rent after every month, and you change everything in his own home. I believe that own homes are keep you happy and comfort.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you give reasons for preferring ownership, including avoiding monthly rent and being able to alter a home, and you clearly regard this preference as positive. These ideas are relevant and supported with examples referring to Pakistan and Bangladesh. However, the explanation of why home ownership is especially important in some countries is not fully developed; the response focuses more on the benefits of owning than on cultural, financial, or security-related reasons behind the preference. The suggestion that governments should build apartments is also introduced without being clearly connected to the question. Develop the reasons more fully and explain how each example supports your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate benefits, and a conclusion that restates your view. Sequencing expressions such as “In the beginning,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” help signal this progression. However, some links between ideas are unclear or mechanical. For example, “Although” does not introduce a complete contrast in the second paragraph, and the move from rent difficulties to government housing is abrupt. References such as “this activity” and “this facility” are not always precise, so readers may need to infer what they refer to. Use clearer links between claims and examples, and make each paragraph develop one central point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “pay rent,” “financial condition,” “limitations,” and “changes,” and you attempt some less common expressions such as “dramatic problem.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to follow. Phrases such as “own residents,” “take changes own home,” and “people do variations own home” do not express the intended ideas naturally. There are also spelling errors, including “decoretion” and “burdon.” Build a more reliable range of housing-related phrases and check spelling; accurate, natural combinations will make your ideas clearer than using ambitious but unsuitable wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional language (“if people have their own…”) and a concession beginning with “Although.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in sentence construction and verb forms occur across the response. For instance, “Some people prefer to living” needs a different verb pattern, while “they don't permission” is missing a verb. Articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “a best thing” and the run-on construction in “In conclusion, living in own homes is a best thing because…”. Practise accurate basic clauses first, then add subordinate clauses while checking verb patterns, articles, and punctuation.
