Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You state a clear view that home ownership is positive, and you give relevant reasons, including being able to design a home, enjoy family activities, and avoid rent. However, the task asks both why owning is important in some countries and whether this is positive or negative; the reasons are only briefly listed, and the explanation of why this preference is especially important in some countries is missing. Several points are unclear or weakly connected, such as living far from close relatives in rented homes. The conclusion repeats the dream-home idea rather than drawing the discussion together. The response is also below the required 250 words, which limits the opportunity to develop and support the ideas. Explain each reason with a clear cause or example and address the country-specific aspect directly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic paragraph structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “To commence with,” “On the other hand,” and “Moreover” show an attempt to guide the reader. However, the progression is not consistently logical: the second body paragraph shifts from saving money to distance from relatives and then home decoration, without explaining how these points connect. Some linking expressions do not accurately signal the relationship between ideas, and references such as “they” are sometimes unclear. The conclusion largely repeats earlier content. Group related reasons together and use clearer topic sentences and transitions so each paragraph develops one main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “rent,” “designing their homes,” “next generation,” and “decorate their home,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “basic neccery,” “complete their important monet related work,” and “their homes beauty.” Repetition of “home,” “dream,” and “important” also restricts precision. Spelling errors, including “thier,” “purches,” and “favioutre,” are noticeable and can make reading less smooth. Build a more accurate set of housing-related collocations and check spelling; for example, distinguish “save money on rent” from “spend money on furnishings.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and use basic structures to express reasons, but the range is limited and errors occur frequently. Examples include “it is very important to have own home,” “there are plethora of benefits,” and “they also saving their money,” which show problems with articles and verb forms. Agreement and sentence construction are also weak in “activities … which can helps” and “When they living in rent homes.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and correctly conjugated verb, and review articles and singular/plural agreement. For instance, “Owning a home is important because people can design it to suit their needs” is a clearer model.
