Student answer (Band 5.5)

In some countries, people place great importance on owning a home instead of renting. House is a basic nacassitey of life. In my pinion, Although home ownership can provide security, placing too much importance on it may also create financial pressure.

In some countries owning a home rather than renting one is very important for people. because many individuals believe that one's own house provides them the sense of securiety an d accomplishment. Homeowners have no worries about increasing in rent and no fear of annoying their roommates and making their life measerabble. They can decorate their home according to their taste. Buying a house is also a kind of investment, becase price of aproperty always increases and it may help you in the time of need. In some cultures, owing a house is considered, as asign of sccess and an important achievement fora family.

This has positive and negative both as[pects, owing a house is a good thing and it amy be very helpful for families. But it emphasis that home owner can also have drawbacks. buying a house only for one's face and acknowledgement from family and society without much resorces can cause financial pressure. They take loans and large mortgages and it take considerable time torepay them.

In conclusion, buying a house ia good thing if a person have enpugh money and resourses for it. In my opinion, every shoud buy a house for their family and kids but it should not restrain their financial freedom of life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both parts of the question: you suggest that ownership offers security, independence from rent increases, and a sense of achievement, then discuss financial pressure from loans and mortgages. Your view is present, but it is not fully consistent: you warn against buying for social approval or without sufficient resources, yet conclude that everyone should buy a home. Clarify whether ownership is generally positive or whether its value depends on affordability, and develop that position with a specific explanation or example. The discussion of why ownership matters is relevant, though some points—such as rising property prices—are asserted rather than explained. The response is 236 words, 14 words below the 250-word minimum; 15 words copied from the task prompt were not counted.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph explaining reasons for ownership, a paragraph considering drawbacks, and a conclusion. This gives the reader an overall route through your ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes weakened by abrupt or unclear connections. For example, “This has positive and negative both as[pects” does not clearly link the preceding reasons to the evaluation, and the conclusion introduces “every [person] should buy” without resolving the earlier concern about financial pressure. Some linking is also mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “also” and “but.” Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to your main position; check that references such as “This” have an unmistakable antecedent.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “security,” “accomplishment,” “investment,” “financial pressure,” and “mortgages.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, but the range is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled forms make the writing less clear. Examples include “nacassitey,” “securiety,” “measerabble,” and “resorces”; there are also awkward phrases such as “increasing in rent” and “for one's face and acknowledgement.” Aim for accurate spelling and natural collocations, and avoid repeating basic terms such as “good thing.” More precise expressions—for example, “rising rents,” “financial security,” and “social recognition”—would make your points clearer and more appropriate to an academic essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including the contrast in “Although home ownership can provide security…” and the conditional idea “if a person have enough money.” However, control is uneven, and errors in sentence boundaries, agreement, articles, and verb forms sometimes make the reader pause. For instance, “In some countries owning a home rather than renting one is very important for people. because…” incorrectly separates a sentence from its continuation; “a person have” needs subject–verb agreement, and “it take considerable time” also has an agreement error. The final sentence shifts between “every” and “their” in a way that needs clearer construction. Practise checking each sentence for a complete clause, correct verb agreement, and consistent punctuation, while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
