Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You give a clear opinion that home ownership is negative and identify social status as one reason people value it. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: the explanation that owning a home is seen as “a more honourable status” is not developed with examples or consequences, and the second part of the question—whether this is positive or negative—is stated but not supported. The essay also contains only an opening and one short body paragraph, with no developed discussion or conclusion. In addition, it does not meet the required minimum length, so there is not enough material to demonstrate a complete response. Explain more than one reason and support your position with specific reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an introductory paragraph states the topic and your view, followed by a paragraph about social status and savings. Some linking is present through “Moreover” and “that's why.” However, the ideas do not progress into a complete argument, and the second paragraph ends without explaining how the points support your negative view. The introduction repeats “In this essay” and the capitalisation in “From my point of view” interrupts the flow. To improve, use a clear sequence of paragraphs—reasons, evaluation, and conclusion—and make each linking phrase show a precise relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the general topic, with relevant expressions such as “owning a home,” “renting,” “valuable property,” and “lifetime savings.” You also attempt more formal wording, including “phenomenon” and “status.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors reduce precision: “owing” is used for “owning,” “circumantense” is unclear, and “owning home” and “renting apartment” are not natural forms. “More honourable status” also does not express the idea as naturally as “higher social status.” Check spelling carefully and learn common housing-related collocations so your meaning is consistently clear.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use mostly simple sentence patterns and make an attempt at a longer sentence with “that's why,” showing some ability to connect clauses. However, the range is limited, and errors occur in basic sentence construction and article use. For example, “In some countries owing a home looks like more valuable rather than renting apartment” lacks a clear comparative structure and needs articles; “Owning home” also needs an article. The opening phrase “there is a following trend which is…” is awkwardly constructed, while punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent, as in “In this essay, From my point of view.” Practise accurate comparisons and article use, then build a wider range of sentence forms while checking punctuation.
