Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear opinion that home ownership is positive and offer relevant reasons: owners can feel more comfortable and make changes without asking permission, while renters may worry about a property’s history. However, the task is only partially addressed because these points are brief and not sufficiently explained or supported with examples. The claim that rental expenses are high is introduced but not developed, and the discussion of crime and a house’s history is difficult to follow. The response also contains 200 words, so it does not meet the required minimum of 250. Develop each reason with a clear explanation or example, and ensure both the reasons for the preference and your evaluation are fully covered.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organisation: you state your view, present reasons in separate paragraphs, and finish with a conclusion. This gives the reader a general sense of the response’s direction. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several ideas are joined without clear relationships. For example, the discussion moves from comfort to restrictions on alterations and then to rental costs without explaining how these points connect. Linking phrases such as “on the one hand” and “secondly” are used, but the first does not lead to a contrasting point, and the conclusion repeats earlier claims rather than drawing them together. Use one focused paragraph for each reason, with clear topic sentences and logical links between explanation and example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a limited but relevant set of vocabulary to discuss housing, including “owning a home,” “rental expenses,” “permission,” and “mental peace.” These choices communicate the main topic, but repetition of “comfortable,” “house,” and “rental” limits variety. Noticeable spelling and word-choice errors sometimes make the reader work to understand the message, as in “apparyment,” “experiace,” and “reltal.” Some expressions are also unnatural, such as “save a rental money” and “the house experience the crime.” Build accuracy with common housing collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise phrases such as “housing costs,” “modify the property,” and “feel secure” would help express your ideas clearly and naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Your response relies mainly on simple sentence patterns, with attempts to connect ideas using “because,” “whereas,” and “so.” These attempts show some range, but complex sentences are often faulty or run together. For instance, “owning a home rather that renting very important for people because…” lacks a complete, correctly formed clause, while “it is helps to save…” combines incompatible verb forms. There are also frequent problems with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, which can make meaning difficult to follow. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use full stops to separate ideas. Then check verb forms and agreement, for example, “owning a home is important” and “it helps people save money.”
