Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both parts of the question: you suggest that owning a home avoids rent and restrictions imposed by landlords, and you state that home ownership is positive. The examples about needing permission and facing rules in rented accommodation are relevant. However, the reasons are not consistently explained, and some points are difficult to interpret—for example, the discussion of workload and taking permission does not clearly show why ownership matters. The disadvantages of buying, such as expense, taxes and paperwork, are mentioned but not weighed against your positive view. Develop each main reason with a clear explanation and example, and make your position explicit throughout. The response meets the required length; 10 words copied from the task prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, separate body paragraphs and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its broad structure. You also attempt linking expressions such as “To illustrate,” “In addition” and “In conclusion.” However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear: the first body paragraph moves from rent to maintenance and savings without clearly connecting the ideas, while the second shifts between workload, permission and house rules. Some connectors are inaccurate or repetitive, including “Although” where a contrast is not clearly expressed and repeated uses of “consequently.” Improve the logical order by giving each paragraph one main reason, then explain and illustrate it. Use pronouns and linking phrases only when their relationship to the preceding idea is clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to housing, including “rent,” “permission,” “owner,” “facilities” and “verification,” and you attempt to express ideas about costs and restrictions. However, the range is limited and several word choices, forms and spellings make meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “Maintains was dependence on you,” “salarly,” “benifit” and “perdomantaly”; phrases such as “reduced money on rents” and “the citizen told” are also unnatural or unclear. These problems sometimes strain the reader’s understanding. Build a more accurate set of collocations for housing and ownership, and check spelling and word forms. Prefer clear, precise expressions over attempting unfamiliar vocabulary when you are unsure how it is used.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a contrast with “However” and a relative clause beginning “which we feel.” Nevertheless, sentence structures are often faulty, and errors frequently make relationships between ideas hard to understand. Examples include “it is a positive to owned the house,” “individual had not paid montly rent,” and “it will reduced money on rents”; these show problems with verb forms and sentence construction. There are also recurring issues with articles, agreement and punctuation, such as “in single house” and the inconsistent spacing around commas and full stops. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check tense, agreement and articles. Use complex clauses only when you can control their structure.
