Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both parts of the prompt: you suggest that ownership offers security and mental peace, and you discuss whether the situation has positive and negative effects. However, the response does not establish a clear overall answer to whether the strong preference for owning a home is positive or negative. The opening focuses on benefits, while the later paragraph lists disadvantages of renting without clearly judging the wider situation. Some ideas are relevant but under-developed: for example, you mention social stability and poverty, but do not explain how home ownership reduces these problems. To strengthen the response, state your position directly and support each main reason with a clear explanation or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from reasons for ownership to disadvantages associated with renting, and signposts such as “On the other hand” help indicate a contrast. However, progression within the paragraphs is not always clear: several points about security, stress and homelessness repeat one another, while the link between home ownership and “begging rackets” is difficult to follow. Some transitions are mechanical, and the final sentence about government programmes does not clearly connect to the argument immediately before it. Organise each paragraph around one central idea, use pronouns and linking phrases to make relationships explicit, and finish with a conclusion that restates your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “mortgages,” “financially unstable,” “social stability” and “mobility.” These choices show an attempt to discuss the issue beyond basic terms. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response harder to read, such as “Posessing,” “crutial,” “sucure” and “high fares” where “high rents” is intended. Some phrases are also unnatural, including “a fair of become homeless” and “massive problem in all over the world.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations for housing and finance; use more precise expressions rather than repeating “problem,” “stress” and “house.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons, such as “because having house reduce a lot of tensions, depression and stress.” However, the range of structures is limited, and errors occur frequently in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction. For example, “people feels relax” should use a plural subject with the correct verb and adjective form, while “mortgages and financial issues is” has a plural subject that requires a plural verb. Articles are also often missing, as in “having house” and “in own houses.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then add subordinate clauses while checking subject–verb agreement and article use.
