Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You give a relevant position by saying you support home ownership, and you identify possible reasons such as personal freedom, decorating choices and long-term financial benefits. However, the response only partially answers the question: it does not clearly explain why owning a home is especially important in some countries, and the comparison with renting is brief and difficult to follow. The point about children growing up with good memories is introduced but not explained. The final paragraph is unfinished, so your view on whether this situation is positive or negative is not fully developed. The response is also 84 words below the required minimum, which leaves too little space to explain and support your ideas. Develop both parts of the question with specific examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening states your view, the next paragraph gives reasons, and “On the other hand” introduces renters. This gives the reader some sense of direction. However, the progression is not sustained because ideas are crowded together, and the final paragraph ends abruptly with “and”. Several points in the second paragraph—rules, taxes, low incomes, personal choice and children—are placed side by side without clear links. The repeated use of “and” also makes relationships between ideas unclear. Use separate paragraphs for the reasons and your evaluation, and connect each point explicitly with cause-and-effect or example language.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to housing and finances, including “property”, “taxes”, “inflation”, “low income” and “long-term financial benefits”. These choices show some awareness of the topic. However, the range is limited, and several inaccurate or unnatural expressions make parts difficult to understand, such as “free rights”, “lost brain sense” and “home applications arrangement”. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “diffirent”, “poeple” and “arrengement”. Aim for precise, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, you could describe the “freedom to make choices about one’s home” and the “financial security” that ownership may provide.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the response includes some clauses that try to explain reasons and consequences. However, control is inconsistent, and frequent errors in sentence structure, verb forms and agreement sometimes make the meaning hard to follow. Examples include “people should owning a home”, “every country have” and “owning a home to allow people doing”. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also problematic: the opening sentence runs together several ideas, while the final paragraph is left incomplete. Practise building accurate basic sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Check subject–verb agreement, verb patterns after “should” and “allow”, and ensure every sentence is complete.
