The graph below shows the number of tourists visiting a particular Caribbean island between 2010 and 2017.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The given graph provides the information of the numbers of immigrants visited a caribbean island from 2010 to 2017.The figures are given in millions.

Overall the total number of tourists increased significantly over the period,rising from 1 milion in 2010 to 3.5 milion in 2017.While the number of visitors staying on the island grew initially and then remained relatively stable,the number of tourists staying on cruise increased sharplyafter 2013.

In 2010 the island received 1 milion tourists in total,including 0.7 milion visitors staying on the island and 0.3 milion staying on cruise ships.The total number of tourists rose steadily to 2 milion in 2013.During the same period,visitors staying on the island increased to 1.5 milion,whereas the figures from the cruise ship tourists fluctuated between 0.3 milion and 0.5 milion.

From 2014 ownwards,the total number of visitors continued to rise,reaching 2.5 milion in 2014and 2.7 milion in both 2015 and 2016 before peaking at 3.5 milion in 2017.The number of toursts staying on the island
