Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the task by describing the trends in tourist numbers. However, the information is often inaccurate or unclear. For example, the description of visitors on 'circius ship' (cruise ships) and those staying on the island lacks precision, and the data points mentioned (e.g., 'reached to 2') are difficult to correlate with the graph. While the main features are identified, the lack of clarity in reporting the data and the failure to provide a clear overview of the trends significantly limits the effectiveness of the response. The summary is present but lacks the analytical depth required for a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is organized into paragraphs, but the flow of ideas is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'in addition to' and 'in the conclusion', but they are often used incorrectly or mechanically. The progression of ideas within paragraphs is disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the different categories of tourists. The referencing is also unclear, as it is often difficult to determine which data point the writer is referring to in the sentences.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'increase', 'decrease', and 'people'. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'circius ship' instead of 'cruise ship' and 'visiter' instead of 'visitors'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to convey the information with precision. While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of variety and the frequent errors in word formation and spelling prevent the response from reaching a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'The graph illustrate'), tense usage (e.g., 'they were increase'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack necessary articles and prepositions. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are consistently faulty. The high frequency of errors in basic grammar and punctuation makes the text difficult to read and significantly lowers the overall quality of the writing.
