Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers the main features of the graph, including the overall trend and specific data points for both categories. However, the overview is slightly confusing; you mention 'total number of visitors' as the highest, but the graph actually compares 'visitors' (presumably total) and 'cruise ship visitors'. The distinction between these two categories needs to be clearer. While you have selected key data, the analysis lacks a comparative focus. For instance, you could have highlighted that cruise ship visitors represent a growing proportion of the total. The summary is functional but lacks the analytical depth required for a higher band score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. You use some cohesive devices like 'In addition', 'Furthermore', and 'Finally' to link ideas. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear. For example, in the second paragraph, you refer to 'the tourists' without clearly distinguishing between the total figures and the cruise ship figures. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the subject of each sentence is explicitly stated to avoid ambiguity.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'steadily increased', 'rapidly', and 'surged'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'had visting' (should be 'visited') and 'it slowdown' (should be 'it slowed down'). Additionally, the phrasing 'total number of visitors were the highest throughout a graph' is imprecise. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise reporting verbs and nouns, and ensure that your collocations are natural. The vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main points, but it lacks the precision and flexibility of a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb tenses and subject-verb agreement, such as 'total number of visitors were' (should be 'was') and 'it surge upto' (should be 'it surged up to'). There are also issues with prepositions and articles, such as 'at 2017' (should be 'in 2017') and 'the people who are staying' (should be 'people staying'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. Focusing on consistent tense usage and correct prepositional phrases will significantly improve your accuracy.
