Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

You have successfully identified the main trends and provided a clear overview of the data. You highlighted the upward trajectory of all categories and correctly identified the most significant performers. However, there are some inaccuracies in your data reporting. For instance, you mention the total visitors reaching 3.5 million, which does not align with the provided graph, and your description of the 2016-2017 period contains inconsistencies. To improve, ensure that your data points are transcribed precisely from the visual aid. While the main features are covered, more precise comparisons between the categories would elevate the response to a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is logically organized into paragraphs, with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In 2010', 'On the other hand', and 'by contrast' to guide the reader. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by grammatical errors or awkward phrasing, such as 'following this time period, tourist visiting ratio decline'. Improving the variety and naturalness of your linking words will help the ideas flow more smoothly between sentences.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'upward trend', 'steady', and 'peak'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'highest tourism place' instead of 'highest number of visitors' and '3.5 million units mark'. Additionally, there are minor spelling issues like 'stying'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure that your vocabulary is used in the correct context to describe statistical data.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is good. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('The line graph illustrate', 'tourist visiting ratio decline'), missing articles ('at 1 million'), and punctuation errors ('1 million .this'). These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, although they do not completely impede communication. To improve, pay closer attention to basic subject-verb agreement and ensure that your sentences are punctuated correctly to maintain a professional tone.
