Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to summarize the main features of the graph, but it fails to provide a clear or accurate overview. The second paragraph is grammatically incomplete and confusing, making it difficult to understand the main trends. While you identify some data points, the description of the trends is often inaccurate or poorly expressed, such as the claim that the total number of tourists increased year by year, which is not fully supported by the data provided. To improve, ensure you clearly distinguish between the two categories (cruise ship visitors vs. island stayers) and provide a more precise summary of the overall trends rather than just listing isolated figures.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is frequently disrupted by unclear phrasing and awkward transitions. For example, the phrase 'Followed by, the stayed at cruise ship' is confusing and lacks a clear connection to the previous sentence. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often applied incorrectly or mechanically, such as 'After that' and 'In given period'. The referencing is also weak, making it hard for the reader to follow the comparison between the two groups of tourists. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each sentence flows logically from the previous one will significantly enhance the clarity of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The range of vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'experienced for staying', 'suppresed', and 'the figure was grow sharply'. These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding of the data. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to use more precise terms to describe trends, such as 'fluctuation' or 'remained stable'. To reach a higher band, focus on learning collocations related to data description, such as 'witnessed a sharp increase' or 'remained relatively constant', and ensure you use words in their correct grammatical form.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often affect the clarity of the message. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('visitor who experienced', 'the figure was grow'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. Many sentences are structurally flawed, such as the second paragraph, which lacks a main verb. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, these are often inaccurate, leading to confusion. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and proofreading for common errors like article usage and verb forms.
