Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main trends and provided a clear overview of the data. You covered both categories (visitors on ships and on land) and the total figures. However, there are some inaccuracies in your data reporting. For instance, you mention the cruise visitors reached a peak of 2 million, but the graph shows the cruise line ending at 1.5 million, while the island visitors end at 2 million. Additionally, your description of the 'total proportion' is slightly confusing as it refers to the sum of the two categories. To improve, ensure you double-check the data points against the axes to avoid misinterpretation of the figures.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs focusing on specific trends. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'However', and 'While' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions. For example, the transition 'While, from 2011 to 2015' is grammatically disjointed. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that transitions smoothly into the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'upward trend', 'dramatic increase', and 'gradual incline'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and awkward collocations, such as 'seven years gap', 'off land people', and 'enjoying on island'. These errors occasionally make the text feel unnatural. To improve, focus on learning specific collocations related to data description, such as 'a steady rise' or 'a significant increase', and avoid using informal phrasing like 'enjoying on island' in an academic report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('visitors... shows', 'these years shows'), missing articles ('going to specific Caribbean island'), and incorrect preposition usage. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall clarity of your writing. To improve, pay closer attention to basic grammar rules, particularly pluralization and article usage, and proofread your work to catch these minor but persistent errors.
