Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all parts of the task and provides a clear overview of the trends. You have successfully identified the main features, such as the growth in both categories and the total visitor numbers. However, the analysis could be more precise. For instance, stating that the number of visitors 'stood stable' until 2011 is slightly inaccurate based on the visual data, and the description of the 2015 intersection point is a bit confusing. To reach a higher band, ensure that data points are cited more accurately and that the comparison between the two categories is more explicit throughout the report.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, with an introduction followed by body paragraphs that group information by category and time. There is a clear progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'By the starting of second half of the year of 2015'. Additionally, some transitions between sentences could be smoother to improve the flow. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be strengthened by using a wider variety of linking words to connect the data points more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey the information, using terms like 'illustrates', 'remarkable', and 'stable'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'noted remarkable high' (should be 'reached a remarkable high') and 'number of visitors' in both accommodation were same' (should be 'in both accommodation types were the same'). These errors do not impede communication, but they prevent the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing will help improve your score in this area.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('on Caribbean island' instead of 'on the Caribbean island') and prepositional usage. Some sentences are also slightly awkward, such as 'Which rose to 1.5 million by 2012', which is a sentence fragment. You have demonstrated an attempt at complex structures, but the control over these is inconsistent. Improving your grasp of subject-verb agreement and article usage will significantly enhance the accuracy of your writing.
