Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement. Furthermore, the content is underdeveloped and lacks a clear overview of the main trends. The description of the data is inaccurate and confusing; for example, the mention of 'zero' and 'two percent' does not align with typical graph data for tourist numbers. The response lacks a clear summary of the main features, and the analysis is fragmented and difficult to follow. To improve, you must ensure you meet the word count and provide a clear, accurate summary of the key trends shown in the graph.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks logical organization and progression. There is no clear paragraph structure, and the sentences are disjointed. Cohesive devices are largely absent or misused, making the text difficult to follow. For instance, the transition 'Initially' is followed by a sentence fragment, and the connection between ideas is weak. To improve, you should organize your response into clear paragraphs: an introduction, an overview of the main trends, and specific details. Use linking words like 'however', 'subsequently', and 'in contrast' to connect your ideas more effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is very limited and often inaccurate. Phrases like 'the man's ratio' and 'peoples ratio' are inappropriate for describing tourist data. There is significant repetition of basic words such as 'number' and 'travel'. The misuse of terms like 'ratio' and 'percentage' suggests a lack of understanding of the data being presented. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to graphs, such as 'fluctuate', 'peak', 'decline', and 'gradual increase', and ensure you use these terms in the correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('the number of people are'), incorrect verb tenses ('increse a bit'), and sentence structure (many sentences are fragments or run-on sentences). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and incorrect capitalization. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple, error-prone sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and correct punctuation before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
