Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to summarize the graph but fails to provide a clear overview or identify the most significant trends. While it mentions some data points, the information is presented in a fragmented manner, making it difficult to follow the overall progression of tourist numbers. The description of the data is often inaccurate or confusing, such as the claim that visitor numbers 'much declined in 2016' without clear context. Key features, such as the total number of tourists compared to the two sub-categories, are not clearly contrasted. To improve, you should provide a clear introductory summary and group data logically to highlight trends rather than listing isolated figures.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is weak. The use of cohesive devices is limited and often mechanical or misused, such as 'On the other hands' and 'as compare other'. The connection between sentences is frequently disjointed, and the referencing is unclear, making it hard for the reader to track which data points are being discussed. The lack of effective transition words between the paragraphs and within them hinders the flow of information. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The range of vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'number of value', 'rose up almost one millions', and 'much decline'. These errors occasionally impede communication, as the reader has to guess the intended meaning. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to use more precise terms to describe trends (e.g., 'ups and downs' instead of 'fluctuations'). To reach a higher band, focus on learning specific collocations for describing graphs, such as 'experienced a significant increase' or 'remained relatively stable'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that affect readability. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'The graph illustrate', 'number of visitors... were rose'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack the necessary components to be grammatically complete. While there is an attempt to use different structures, the high frequency of errors makes the text difficult to process. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that subjects and verbs agree and that tenses are used consistently when describing past data.
