Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is severely incomplete, cutting off abruptly in the third paragraph with the sentence fragment "While the add". Additionally, the length requirement of 150 words is not met, as the student's response contains only 110 words. Because of this under-length and incomplete delivery, the main features are not fully reported, and the overall summary is cut short before addressing the later years of the graph (2014-2017). This significantly impacts task completion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response exhibits some basic organizational structure with an introductory sentence and paragraph divisions, but the overall progression is cut short abruptly. Cohesive devices are attempted (e.g., "While", "In 2010", "On the other hand"), but referencing is occasionally clumsy, such as "the Caribbean island in terms of the individuals who visit there". Paragraphing is initiated properly, but the sudden ending prevents a fully coherent essay structure.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is somewhat limited and basic for an Academic Task 1 response, though it is minimally adequate for the small portion of text produced. There are noticeable lexical inaccuracies and awkward phrasings, such as "the least number of travelers were opted to stay" (passive/active confusion and incorrect verb form) and "appealed almost the triple amount of explorers as compare to". These lexical errors cause some strain for the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, and attempts at complex sentences contain frequent errors. Examples include "the Caribbean island in terms of the individuals who visit there", "While the total number of visitors continously increased", and "were opted to stay". Furthermore, spelling errors such as "continous" are present, and the response ends mid-sentence, which disrupts grammatical continuity and lowers accuracy.
