The graph below shows the number of tourists visiting a particular Caribbean island between 2010 and 2017.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The line graph illustrates the number of visitors on Caribbean island i 2010 and 2017.
Overall, it is evident that visitors on cruie ships experienced a significant increase whereas the figure depicting staying on island showed some fluctuations however the total number presented a substantial rise.
In the provided data, cruise ships were the least choice in 2010 with around 0.3 million visitors that reached to 0.5 in 2011 before falling down to same level in 2012. However, after that it witnessed a plunge rise and reached its peak point in 2017 of 2 million tourists. On the other hand, staying on land was more popular with roughly 0.7 million people in 2010 till the mid of 2015 as compared to cruises but after that it showed a slight decrease from 1.5 to approximately 1.2 million before again reaching at 1.5.
Total number of visitors though showed a remarkable inclline begining with only 1 million tourists in 2010 and peaked with 3.5 million visitors in 2017.
