IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The graph below shows the number of tourists visiting a particular Caribbean island between 2010 and 2017.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The trends demonstrates the numbers of tourists visiting a specific Caribbean island from 2010 to 2017.

Overall, the graph illustrates the numbers of visitors in millions on a caribbean island and has divided it into three catagories. One is the visitors who are staying at cruise ship the other one show the number of guests spending their time on the island, while the third one represents the total ammount of guests in the island.

As we can see that, the visitor staying at cruise ships as well as on island started from a much lower number, with a difference of almost half a million and fluctuated between 2011 to 2016 and then ended up in 2017 with relatively same difference as 2010.

Meanwhile the total number of of tourist on island was around 1 million in 2010. Then the number rose to 1.5 million in 2012 and and faces some up and downs till 2016 and then rose sharply and ended up with almost 3.5 million visitors in 2017.
