Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The student covers all parts of the task by reporting the main features and trends of the graph between 2010 and 2017, including the total number of visitors and the two sub-categories (cruise ships and on-island stays). An overview is provided, noting the upward trend in total visitors and the differing trajectories of the two accommodation types. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in reading the data, such as stating 'only 0.3 visitor prefered to stayed on cruise ships' in 2010 when the chart shows 0.25, and some minor confusions in referencing ratios versus absolute numbers. Nevertheless, the key trends are effectively highlighted and supported with data points, fulfilling the requirements for Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response is organized into a four-paragraph structure, consisting of an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs detailing the data. Cohesive devices are attempted ('IN GENERAL OVERVIEW', 'ASPER INFORMATION ENTAILS', 'MOVING A HEAD'), but some are awkward or non-standard, creating a mechanical feel. Paragraphing is present, but logical progression within the third and fourth paragraphs is occasionally disrupted by confusing shifts between totals and specific categories. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the use of 'its ratio' without a distinct antecedent. Overall arrangement is coherent enough to follow, matching the Band 5.5 to 6.0 profile, leaning towards 6.0 due to clear paragraphing.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'calibrated', 'fluctuated', and 'peak'. However, there are frequent word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'CHAT' instead of chart, 'RAISING' instead of rising, 'REAMINED' instead of remained, 'SLIENTLY' instead of silently/slightly, and 'PREFERED' instead of preferred. These errors do not completely impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score to Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is weak. Capital letters are used throughout the entire response, which is a major formatting issue. There are numerous grammatical and morphological errors, such as 'THE GIVEN LINE CHAT TRACKS THE FIGURE OF FOREIGNER VISITS', 'whose ratio has kept on raising', and 'whose figured is just 0.8'. Subject-verb agreement and tense consistency are problematic ('is... in 2011 after slight increased it remained'). These frequent errors can cause difficulty for the reader and typify Band 5.0.
