Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover the main overall rise and report several relevant figures, including the total reaching 3.5 million in 2017 and cruise-ship visitors reaching 2 million. You also note that island-staying visitors dipped before ending at 1.5 million. However, some details are inaccurate: in 2010, cruise-ship visitors were about 0.25 million and island visitors about 0.75 million, not the reverse. The claim that cruise-ship numbers became stable after a dip is unclear, since they rose overall after 2012. Your overview also says island visitors “falacute” and “take over” cruise visitors, which does not clearly describe the data; island visitors remained higher until 2016, when the figures were equal. More precise comparisons and a clearer overview would strengthen the report.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs describing earlier and later years. This gives the reader a general route through the information, and phrases such as “In contrast” help signal a comparison. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several trends and figures are combined in long sentences. For example, the sentence beginning “In between 2011 and 2013” moves between the total and both visitor categories without clearly separating their changes. Some linking phrases are also awkward or repetitive, including “In the end of a period” and “Similar trend can seen.” Grouping the series more systematically and using clearer references would make the relationships easier to understand.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “figure,” “increased,” “dip,” “stable,” and “in contrast,” so the reader can identify the broad trends being described. However, the range and control are limited by repeated general terms such as “figure,” “visitors,” and “number,” as well as inaccurate or unnatural choices. “Touch peak,” “lived in cruise ships,” and “falacute” do not express the intended data trends clearly. There are also noticeable spelling errors, for example “millon,” “vistiors,” “recored,” and “preiod.” Aim for precise chart language such as “rose to,” “remained steady,” and “reached a peak,” and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “while” and “whereas,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, some grammatical errors make relationships between ideas unclear. Examples include “It also show” instead of “It also shows,” “the figure significantly increased … and the touch peak,” and “Similar trend can seen.” There are problems with articles, verb forms, agreement, and sentence boundaries; for instance, the opening runs two sentences together after “2017.” Several long sentences also lack clear grammatical structure, particularly the sentence beginning “In between 2011 and 2013.” Practise accurate past-tense reporting and build complex sentences around one clear comparison at a time.
