Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You give a relevant overview of the overall rise in all three figures and report several key values, including the total increasing from 1 million to 3.5 million. The account of island-based visitors is also broadly accurate, including their plateau and the dip in 2016. However, some details are unclear or imprecise: cruise-ship visitors did not lead in 2010, since island visitors numbered about 0.75 million compared with 0.25 million on ships. They overtook island visitors in 2016, not the middle of 2015. The total also levelled off at about 2.75 million in 2015 and 2016, a useful feature missing from your summary. More precise comparisons and a clearer account of these stages would make the report more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the visitor categories and total. This makes the main information easy to locate, and sequencing expressions such as “In 2010,” “After that,” and “In the final year” help guide the reader through time. However, some links between ideas are awkward or unclear. For example, “After that, it grew gradually from 0.3 million to 2 million” does not clearly identify the starting point or distinguish the cruise-ship series from the preceding dip. The overview also combines the two visitor groups without highlighting their different patterns. Use clearer references to each series and organise comparisons around shared years or turning points to improve progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a suitable range of vocabulary for describing a graph, including “increased,” “dip,” “rose gradually,” “slight fall,” and “grew sharply.” These choices communicate the main trends, and the response generally remains understandable. However, some collocations and expressions are imprecise or unnatural, such as “cruise ships visitors,” “visited island,” and “in the mid of 2015.” There is also repetition of “increased” and “grew,” while “visitors” is used frequently without always distinguishing the groups. Aim for more accurate graph-reporting phrases and consistent labels, such as “cruise-ship passengers” and “visitors staying on the island.” Check spelling as well: “untill” should be “until.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause in “despite some fluctuations” and a time clause beginning “before a dip.” Most of the meaning is clear, but some grammatical errors remain. In “the visitors who stayed on ships and those who visited island … increased,” the article is missing before “island,” and the comma is misplaced. “It remained unchanged … then it rose” would be clearer with a full stop or a conjunction. The sentence “Overall visitors … were 1 million …, it experienced a gradual rise” joins two independent clauses with only a comma. There are also number and article problems in “one and half million” and “1.2 millions.” Review sentence boundaries, articles, and singular/plural forms while retaining your range of sentence structures.
