Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You identify the overall rise in total visitors and describe the contrasting patterns for cruise-ship and island visitors, so the main features are covered. Several figures are also reported accurately, including the total of about 1 million in 2010 and 3.5 million in 2017. However, some details are misread or unclear: cruise-ship visitors were about 2 million in 2017, not 1.7 million, and island visitors peaked at about 1.5 million rather than reaching their highest point in 2013 alone. The account of 2011–2013 totals is also vague, and the sentence about 2014–2015 makes the timing of the increase unclear. A more precise overview and more carefully selected comparisons would strengthen the report further.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs describing the total and the two visitor categories. The sequence from the early years to 2017 is generally easy to follow, and linking expressions such as “Overall,” “However,” and “In comparison” help signal relationships. Some connections are mechanical or imprecise, though. For example, “In 2011 the total number of increased slightly” does not clearly state what is increasing, while “From 2014 to 2015” is followed by a figure that appears to describe 2014. The overview also combines cruise-ship and island trends in a confusing way. Make each paragraph’s focus explicit and use references and transitions that accurately connect the data.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for describing a graph, including “increased,” “reached,” “stayed almost the same,” and “in comparison.” This gives the report enough basic language to communicate the main trends. However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “the number of people staying on thr island on cruise ship,” which muddles the two categories. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “catagoris,” “thre,” and “mre.” Repetition of “number” and “increased” makes the description less precise. Use accurate category labels consistently and build a wider set of trend verbs and comparison phrases, checking spelling before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause with “although” and a comparison introduced by “while.” The main message is usually understandable, but grammatical errors recur and sometimes make relationships unclear. Examples include “between 2010 to 2017” (the time expression needs a consistent preposition), “the total number of increased slightly” (the noun phrase is incomplete), and “although they were some changes” (the clause structure is faulty). There are also inconsistent or missing articles and awkward sentence boundaries, as in “the number of tourists staying on the island reached its highest point in 2013 and they went up and down slightly.” Practise complete clause structures and check agreement, articles, and punctuation.
