Student answer (Band 5.0)
The graph illustrates the number of visiting tourists to a particular island between 2010 and 2017.
Overall, it is evident that visitors are divided into the two kinds; staying on cruise ships other one are staying on island, whereas one is concluded as total line. Visitors staying on island was highest on starting than decline, while visitors staying on cruise ships are stood on lowest millions while at the end rise. The evalution for total sttod on peak.
In the 2010 year, around 0.3 million people's were stayed on ships but raise in year 2011. However tourists stayed on the island are about 0.7 million, total individual are stood on 1 million. In contrast, in year 2012 ships vistors are decling although people's staying on island were about 1.2 million and constantly raising till year 2015 which was 1.5 million people than gradually decreasing till 2017 and last count was round about 1.4 million. Moreover people's who stay on ships are increasing day by day and the total count for them were 2 million. Although i want to conclude total million for people are increasing day by day with the passage of time.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the two visitor categories and the total, and you include several relevant figures, such as the island’s approximately 1.5 million visitors in 2015 and cruise-ship visitors reaching 2 million in 2017. However, the overview is unclear and partly inaccurate: island-staying visitors did not peak at the start; they rose from about 0.75 million to around 1.5 million, then fluctuated slightly. The total also did not simply “stand on peak”; it increased overall, with a brief plateau in 2015–16 before reaching 3.5 million. Some comparisons are missing, especially the changing relationship between the two categories. State the main trends clearly in the overview, then support them with accurate, selected comparisons.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic paragraph structure, with an introduction, an overview and a detail paragraph, and it generally follows the years in chronological order. However, progression is difficult to follow because several ideas are crowded into long sentences, particularly the account of island visitors from 2012 to 2017. Linking words such as “However,” “In contrast,” and “Moreover” are used, but some do not clearly express the relationship between the information that follows. References such as “one” and “them” also make it unclear which visitor group is meant. Organise the details into clearer comparisons—for example, describe island visitors separately from cruise-ship visitors—and use precise references and simpler transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “total,” “increasing,” “declining,” and “gradually decreasing,” so the reader can recognise the general subject and trends. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, making parts of the report difficult to interpret. Phrases such as “the evalution for total sttod on peak” and “total individual” do not communicate the intended data clearly. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “vistors,” “decling,” and “evalution.” Use standard chart language consistently, such as “the total number of visitors,” “reached,” and “remained stable,” and check spelling and word forms before finishing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to combine ideas using clauses and contrast, as in “although people’s staying on island were about 1.2 million,” but complex sentences are often faulty and the range of accurate structures is limited. Errors in tense, agreement, articles and sentence construction occur throughout: “Visitors staying on island was highest,” “people’s were stayed,” and “the total count … were 2 million.” Some sentences also lack clear grammatical connections, which makes the intended meaning harder to follow. Practise forming accurate past-tense descriptions with plural subjects—for example, “Visitors staying on the island rose”—and use shorter sentences when comparing figures. Check subject–verb agreement and article use in each sentence.
