Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the period and both visitor categories, and your overview notes that cruise-ship visitors and the total rose while island-staying visitors changed less. The account also includes several relevant figures and the broad upward trend. However, some details are inaccurate: the total was 1 million in 2010, not 2 million, and cruise-ship numbers fell from 0.5 million in 2011 to 0.25 million in 2012, rather than rising and then falling to 0.5 million. The claim that island visitors were the “least popular” is not supported, since this category exceeded cruise-ship visitors for much of the period. More precise comparisons and a clearer overview of the total’s growth would make the report more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs describing the cruise-ship/total figures and island visitors. This gives the information an overall coherent arrangement. Time markers such as “In 2010,” “After that,” and “In addition” help show sequence, but the linking is sometimes mechanical, and the repeated “After that” makes the progression less flexible. Some references are also unclear, particularly “it” in the cruise-ship paragraph, where the reader must infer which figure or category is meant. Grouping the series more deliberately and using clearer comparisons between them would strengthen the flow and make the relationships easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “stood at,” “remained,” “reached,” “decline,” and “fluctuations,” so the main trends are generally understandable. However, several choices are imprecise or unnatural: “different trend” should be plural or rephrased, “recovered well” is not a precise description of the data, and “least popular” suggests preference rather than visitor numbers. There are also spelling and form errors, including “remainds” and “upto.” Aim for accurate trend language and natural collocations, such as “rose steadily,” “fell,” and “accounted for.” This would make the description more precise without requiring unnecessarily elaborate vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex forms, including a contrast clause beginning “Though” and time clauses such as “before experiencing some decline.” Most sentences remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “it it increase” and “it continue to increase” have incorrect verb forms, while “visitors staying on cruise ship” needs a plural or article. The sentence “Then it continued to grow steadily and reached upto 3.5 million” also has an unclear subject, since “it” could refer to the total or a category. Check past-tense consistency, subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation, and make sure each pronoun has a clear antecedent. More accurate control of these forms would improve readability.
