Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the overall rise in total visitors and note that cruise-ship visitors increased substantially, which are important features of the graph. You also report several relevant figures, including the total of about 1 million in 2010 and 3.5 million in 2017, and the island-staying figure of 1.5 million in 2017. However, the overview is unclear: “peak high” does not accurately describe the total’s steady overall growth, and the claim that cruise-ship visitors are “second highest” is not clearly explained. Some trends are also imprecise: the total did not remain stable for a year, while island visitors rose to 1.5 million by 2013, stayed level through 2015, then dipped before recovering. A clearer overview and more precise comparisons would strengthen the report.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate discussion of the total and the two visitor categories. This gives the reader a basic route through the information. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, particularly in the final paragraph, where island and cruise-ship figures are combined in a long sequence. Connectors such as “Additionally,” “However,” and “Furthermore” are used, but some do not show a clear contrast or relationship between the ideas that follow. The overview also repeats the graph’s subject without clearly organising the main comparisons. Grouping the figures into clearer stages and using linking words only when their meaning fits would make the report more cohesive.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to describing trends, including “stable,” “fall,” “increase,” and “dramatically,” and the reader can generally identify the intended subject. However, spelling and word-choice errors are frequent and sometimes strain understanding: “digite,” “visitours,” “significuntly,” “copae,” and “drametically” obscure otherwise useful points. Several phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “peak high,” “seen many up and downs,” and “number of visitors staying in island number.” Aim for accurate, conventional collocations for graph descriptions, such as “rose steadily,” “remained stable,” and “reached a peak.” Careful proofreading of spelling and choosing precise trend verbs would improve clarity and control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, for example, using “then” and “however” to connect changes over time. The main message is often recoverable, but some grammatical errors make relationships between figures unclear. In “it started increase around 5 years,” the verb pattern is incomplete, and “after it stay stable one” lacks a clear subject and grammatical structure. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “the number of visitors staying on island number is 0.7 million in year 2010, it is…” More accurate tense and verb forms, complete clauses, and consistent punctuation would help you express the trends more reliably while retaining some complex sentences.
