Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the overall rise in total visitors and correctly report the starting figure of about 1 million and the final peak of 3.5 million. However, the account focuses almost entirely on the total and does not describe the two visitor categories, which are central features of the graph. Several figures are also inaccurate: the total rose from 1 million to 1.25 million in 2011, not 1.5 million; it increased by about 0.25 million in 2015, not 0.2 million, and remained around 2.75 million in 2016 before rising to 3.5 million. The overview is not clearly separated from the year-by-year details. To make the report more complete, summarise the contrasting trends in cruise-ship and island-staying visitors as well as the total.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response follows a broadly chronological order, so readers can trace the years from 2010 to 2017, and linking expressions such as “after this,” “next year” and “moreover” show an attempt to connect information. However, the writing is presented as one long paragraph, with no clear overview or grouping of the main trends. Some transitions are repetitive or do not clarify the relationship between figures, and the extended final sentence beginning “so after collecting all the information” repeats the conclusion rather than advancing the report. Use separate paragraphs for an overview and key details, and group related years or categories together. More precise links such as “by contrast” and “while” would help show comparisons rather than simply listing successive years.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the general subject and some changes, with terms such as “increased,” “visitors,” “highest” and “million.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the report difficult to read naturally. “Bar pretends” does not describe the visual accurately; use “The line graph shows.” Phrases such as “how much peoples are visits” and “the lowest numbers of visitors are visits” are not appropriate ways to describe data. There are also spelling errors, including “Caribean,” “tousrsm” and “visitos.” Practise standard graph language such as “the number of visitors,” “rose to,” “remained stable” and “reached a peak,” and check spelling before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to connect several clauses and describe changes over time, but sentence structures are often faulty, and errors sometimes make the intended meaning hard to follow. For example, “we starts information with year 2010” has incorrect subject–verb agreement and article use, while “it was increased” uses an unsuitable passive construction for a changing figure. The long sentence beginning “Moreover increased same like 2012” lacks a clear grammatical structure and punctuation, and “in 2016 it same as 2015” is missing a verb. Most sentences rely on simple, repetitive patterns, with limited accurate control of complex clauses. Build shorter, complete sentences first, using forms such as “The total rose from … to …” and “It remained stable in 2016,” then add comparisons with correctly formed “while” clauses.
