Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You cover the main components and give a clear overview of the overall rise, the cruise-ship increase and the comparatively stable island-stay figures. The total is accurately described as rising from about 1 million to 3.5 million, with a pause around 2015–16. You also report the island-stay series’ peak and later dip. This meets the task well, with some features more fully reported than others. However, the overview says visitors staying on the island were “flactuating continously,” which overstates the variation: this series is mostly stable after rising, with only a modest dip. The claim that most visitors increasingly chose cruise ships is also imprecise: island stays remained higher until 2016, when cruise-ship visitors overtook them. Clarifying these comparisons would make the summary more complete and precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction and overview are followed by paragraphs on the total and the two accommodation types. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Now,” and “However” help signal shifts, and the reader can generally follow the time progression. However, some links are mechanical or unclear, and the overview’s comparison is difficult to interpret. The final paragraph combines both accommodation series, while the total is treated separately; clearer grouping or a more deliberate comparison between the two series would improve progression. Several sentences also run together or use unclear references, such as “it remain approximately same at the end of the years year 2016.” Use concise sentences and connect each comparison explicitly to its subject.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “increased dramatically,” “remain constant,” “slight decrease,” and “visitors,” so the main trends are usually understandable. However, the range and control are limited by repeated basic wording and frequent inaccurate choices or forms. Phrases such as “people dream to stay at cruise ships,” “come at same place,” and “showed a encladible increase” are not natural ways to describe chart data, and misspellings such as “demostrates,” “flactuating,” and “comperision” are noticeable. Aim for precise reporting language and check spelling and collocations. For example, use “visitors staying aboard cruise ships” and “rose steadily” rather than conversational or unclear expressions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including time clauses and contrasts, and the overall meaning can usually be recovered. However, errors in sentence structure and basic grammatical forms are frequent enough to make some sentences difficult to read. Examples include “the total people who visited to this island,” “it was accounted about 2.5 million visitor,” and “it remain approximately same.” These show problems with verb forms, articles, plurals and sentence construction. There are also awkward clause connections, as in “Most of the people travel to island try to stay on cruise consequently.” Practise forming complete clauses with a clear subject and verb, and maintain past tense when describing the historical data. More accurate control of these patterns would make your range of sentence forms effective.
