Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the overall rise in total visitors and mention that island-based numbers fluctuate, which are relevant main features. However, the response only partially reports the graph: it does not give clear figures for the total or compare the two visitor groups in a systematic way. Some details are inaccurate or unclear. For example, “in 2010 to 2012 its remain constant” does not describe the cruise-ship series, which changes from about 0.25 million to 0.5 million and back to 0.25 million; the island-staying series rises over those years. The overview also says totals increase annually, although they level off between 2015 and 2016. Select the key trends accurately, support them with a few figures, and avoid vague conclusions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation into an opening, an overview, and further description, and words such as “Firstly,” “Although,” and “Lastly” show an attempt to guide the reader. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the body does not clearly separate the two series or move through the years in a consistent order. Several linking expressions are inaccurate or create confusing relationships, as in “Although, 2013 visitors…” and “on the other hand” where the comparison is not clearly stated. The final sentence repeats the overview rather than adding useful information. Group the data into clear comparisons, use chronological sequencing, and make each paragraph serve a distinct purpose.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response uses some task-related vocabulary, including “total,” “visitors,” “staying on cruise ships,” “stable,” and “decline.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning difficult to understand, such as “few individuals enjoy the views,” “other country mankinds,” and “line graph.” Spelling errors are also noticeable, including “Overll,” “inceases,” “annualy,” and “brefily.” These issues reduce precision when describing trends. Use standard chart language and practise accurate forms of common trend verbs and nouns. For example, describe visitor numbers as rising, remaining stable, or falling, rather than using unclear phrases about people or views.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, but control is inconsistent, and errors frequently make relationships between ideas hard to interpret. Examples include “The graph illustrate,” “its remain constant,” and “the number of values it incresed,” where subject–verb agreement and sentence structure are faulty. Several clauses are joined without clear punctuation or grammatical links, particularly in the long sentence beginning “Although,2013 visitors…”. Articles and prepositions are also often missing or incorrectly used. Build accurate short sentences first, such as “The total rose from one million in 2010 to 3.5 million in 2017,” then combine them with controlled clauses. Check agreement, tense, and sentence boundaries during revision.
