Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You cover the main components and give a clear overview: total visitor numbers rise from 1 million to 3.5 million, cruise-ship visitors grow substantially, and island stays fluctuate less. Most reported figures and trends match the graph, including the total plateau in 2015–16 and the island figure’s dip in 2016. This gives the response a solid account of the task. Some details are less precise: the total rises from 1.5 million in 2012 to 2.5 million in 2014, but “rocket sky” is an unclear description, and the cruise-ship series also dips in 2012 after rising in 2011. For a stronger overview, compare the two visitor types more explicitly, especially how cruise visitors overtake island visitors in 2017.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs describing the total/cruise figures and island stays. This makes the main information reasonably easy to follow. You also use time markers such as “in 2011,” “then,” and “in 2017” to show sequence. However, linking is sometimes mechanical or unclear, particularly the repeated “then” and “Similarly,” which introduces a series that includes a fall as well as a rise. The opening overview sentence also joins several trends in a long, loosely connected structure. Improve progression by grouping the overall trend first, then comparing the two categories, and use clearer references such as “By contrast” or “Meanwhile” where appropriate.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “total number,” “visitors,” “increased,” “constant,” and “remains,” so the reader can identify the trends you intend to describe. However, the range and control are limited, and several inaccurate or informal expressions make the report less precise. “Rocket sky” is not a natural collocation for a graph description, while “preferance on staying” and “staying cruise sheep” obscure the intended meaning. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “vistors,” “drasticaly,” and “millons.” Aim for accurate, neutral reporting language and check spelling carefully; precise verbs such as “rose,” “fluctuated,” and “remained stable” will help convey the data clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including clauses linked with “and,” “while,” and “then,” and the general meaning is usually recoverable. However, control is inconsistent: errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries occur throughout. For example, “The line-graph illustrate” needs subject–verb agreement, and “the people staying in cruise ships has rose” combines an incorrect verb form with agreement problems. The sentence beginning “It is clearly seen that” also runs into a lower-case “and” after a full stop, while several long sentences would be clearer if divided. Practise accurate past-tense reporting and build complex sentences around one clear main clause.
