Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the chart’s subject and mention the overall rise in total visitors, as well as the island-staying figure’s dip in 2016 and recovery in 2017. However, the overview is inaccurate: the total is not the highest individual category, since it is the sum of the two visitor groups, and the two groups are not both lowest. Several figures or trends are also unclear or incorrect: island visitors rose from about 0.75 million in 2010 to 1.5 million in 2013, not simply from 2010 to 2015, while the total reached 2 million in 2013, not 2015. The response is 139 words, below the required 150. Include a precise overview and select key comparisons with accurate dates and values.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs, with the cruise-ship and island figures discussed before the total. This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, progression is weakened by the repeated claim that the total is highest and by unclear sequencing, especially “after that it was increase to the 2010 to 2015.” Linking phrases such as “Firstly,” “In addition,” and “Moreover” are used, but they do not always clarify how the information relates. Group the figures by trend and make each comparison explicit—for example, contrast the steady rise in cruise-ship visitors with the relatively stable island figure. Clearer references and more accurate transitions would make the account easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is sufficient to identify the main chart categories and describe basic movement, using phrases such as “increase,” “decrease,” “highest,” and “visitors.” However, the range is limited and several choices or forms are inaccurate, which makes some descriptions difficult to interpret. Examples include “a little bit grow,” “visitor staying on cruise ship,” and “under 3 millions visitor.” Spelling errors such as “deacrese” also reduce accuracy. Use standard chart language and vary it appropriately: “rose,” “fell,” “remained stable,” and “reached.” Check collocations and plural forms, such as “visitors staying on cruise ships” and “3 million visitors,” so that the data descriptions sound clear and natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt a few longer sentences, including “Furthermore, it was deacrese in 2016 and again increase in 2017,” but most of the response relies on short, simple patterns, and errors are frequent. Verb forms and agreement are often faulty: “it was a little bit grow” and “visitor staying … both are lowest.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention; for example, “since 2010” begins a new sentence without a capital, while the opening contains the repeated article “the the.” Articles, plurals, and tense are inconsistent as well. Practise accurate past-tense reporting, such as “the figure increased” and “visitors staying on the island rose,” then combine these clauses with simple linking structures. Greater control of basic sentence patterns is needed for the meaning to remain clear.
