Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

You state a clear position in the introduction: “I completely disagree,” and give a relevant reason, namely that printed materials can be more comfortable and help readers avoid screen-related eye strain. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: it does not explain whether online reading will be free, consider why people may continue buying printed books or newspapers, or develop the stated reason with examples. The final point about concentration is unfinished, so it cannot support your argument. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, leaving the position and supporting ideas substantially underdeveloped. To improve, develop at least two distinct reasons, explain each with an example, and address the claim about free online access directly before concluding.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic overall sequence: an introduction gives your position, followed by a paragraph beginning “Firstly” that introduces a reason. Linking expressions such as “because,” “On the other hand,” and “Moreover” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the response ends mid-thought at “Some people find it easier to concentrate,” and the contrast introduced by “On the other hand” is not clearly set against a complete preceding idea. The paragraphing and development are also too limited to establish a full argument. Organise the response into a clear introduction, separate body paragraphs with one developed point each, and a conclusion; use linking phrases only where the relationship between ideas is clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “printed copies,” “eye strain,” “headaches,” and “screen,” which helps communicate the central idea. There are also attempts to express preference and convenience. However, spelling errors are frequent and sometimes make the text harder to read, including “belevie,” “everthing,” “comletely,” “staement,” and “boks.” Some word choices and phrases are imprecise, such as “for a long time” without saying what activity continues for a long time, and “read everything they want online” could be expressed more precisely. Build accuracy by proofreading spelling and learning topic-specific collocations, such as “prolonged screen use” and “printed publications.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response includes simple statements and an attempt at a complex sentence, for example, “many people enjoy reading printed books and newspaper because they find them more comfortable and convenient.” However, grammatical control is inconsistent. “For a long time can cause eye strain and headaches” is a sentence fragment because it has no clear subject, while “printed material still have their own importance” has a subject–verb agreement problem. The opening also runs several sentences together with missing spaces and inconsistent capitalisation after full stops, which affects punctuation and readability. Practise completing each sentence with a clear subject and verb, checking singular and plural agreement, and using full stops and capital letters consistently. More accurate sentence patterns will make your argument easier to follow.
