Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the modern technology era, people are more into social media and they find it more useful to get knowledge and news of their surroundings. However, some people opine that in the future people will prefer to read online rather than buying any printed newspaper or books. Moreover, I strongly agree with this statement and I will explain further in this paragraph.
To begin with, the first reason to agree with the statement is that with the increase use of social media because nowadays, everybody find social media is reliable resource of getting information such apps like Instagram, Facebook and many more. They can easily get any news realted to any topics free of cost. Moreover, individuals especially, youngsters shows great interest in readind online from e-books and they even prefer to study digitally rather than doing it from their textbooks.
Nevertheless, some people still prefer to read from newspaper or books such as older people they find newsapapers better source for getting information because they are not capable enough to use digital books and even it will effect their health as well as their eyes too. Moreover, for children and kids printed books are better souce of learning and gathering knowledge because if we handover them these devices they may missuse it and even their concentrate would be compromised.
In conclusion, I believe that people will prefer most to get information and news online rather than depending more into printed newspaper or books. Moreover, some people still prefer printed newspaper or books as a viable source for reading and getting information.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you strongly agree that online reading will become more popular, and you give relevant reasons involving free access, young people’s digital habits, older readers, and children’s learning. You also acknowledge that printed materials may remain useful, which helps address the issue rather than presenting only one side. However, the main case for the future shift is not fully developed: the claim that social media is a reliable source is asserted without explaining why online access will replace purchases of books and newspapers. The counterarguments about health and children’s device use are also introduced but not weighed against your position. Develop each point with a specific explanation or example and connect it more directly to the prediction in the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting considerations, and a conclusion that restates your view. This gives the reader an overall coherent route through the argument. Some links, however, feel mechanical or unclear. For example, “To begin with, the first reason” repeats the same signposting, while “Nevertheless” introduces a counterpoint but the relationship between that point and your strong agreement is not explained. The opening also promises to explain the view “in this paragraph,” although the discussion continues beyond it. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the logical relationship between each reason and your position explicit. Clearer topic sentences and more precise referencing would make the progression easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “social media,” “e-books,” “digitally,” “viable source,” and “gathering knowledge,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “individuals” and “prefer.” However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling reduce precision: “increase use of social media,” “reliable resource,” and “depending more into” are not natural combinations, while “realted,” “newsapapers,” and “souce” are misspelled. Repetition of “information,” “news,” and “prefer” also limits flexibility. Build accuracy by learning common word partnerships and proofreading spelling, and choose vocabulary that expresses the exact relationship you mean rather than relying on broad terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because” and “rather than,” and your meaning is usually recoverable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “everybody find” should use a singular verb, and “youngsters shows” also has a subject–verb agreement problem. The opening of the first body paragraph, “with the increase use of social media because nowadays,” combines structures in a way that makes the sentence difficult to follow. There are also awkwardly joined ideas in the sentence about older people and their eyes. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and main verb, and use complex clauses selectively so that they remain grammatically complete.
