Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss the shift from printed material to digital reading and give relevant advantages, including free access, convenience, and reduced need to visit a library. You also acknowledge a disadvantage: screen light can make reading uncomfortable. However, the response does not clearly answer the central prediction that printed newspapers and books will disappear, or state how far you agree or disagree. The final sentence suggests that print will remain, but this position is not explained or supported with specific reasons. Several points about the past and the benefits of reading are only loosely connected to the question. Make your position explicit in the introduction and develop it consistently, explaining whether online access will replace print or merely reduce its use.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable sequence: technological development, earlier reading habits, digital advantages, and a concluding comment about printed books. Paragraph breaks help separate these stages, and words such as “However” and “Above all” signal some relationships between ideas. Nevertheless, the overall progression is not always clear because the discussion moves from the value of reading to cost, then to digital convenience, without consistently linking these points to whether print will disappear. Some transitions are mechanical, and “Firstly” is repeated. The conclusion is very brief and does not clearly follow from the examples. Organise the body around two or three reasons supporting your stated position, and use clear topic sentences and references to connect each example to the main argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “digital reading,” “print industry,” “digital libraries,” and “electronic devices,” and you attempt some less common expressions such as “facilitate humans” and “wellbeing.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts less natural or occasionally difficult to understand. Examples include “technology takes development,” “digital print has came,” “free for read,” and “safe you from lifting books weight.” Spelling errors such as “acheived,” “efficent,” and “availble” are also noticeable. Build accuracy by learning common topic collocations and checking spelling, while choosing precise terms such as “printed publications” and “online access” where appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses beginning with “because” and “while,” and the main ideas can generally be followed. However, the range of structures is limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “people spend free time” needs a past-tense form, “technology overcome this hurdle” has an incorrect verb form, and “you need to went” combines incompatible verb forms. In “It not only increased their knowledge but also make them focus,” the verb forms do not agree. Some sentences also lack clear grammatical connections. Practise accurate past and present forms, modal patterns, and parallel structures, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
