IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the era of modern technology internet is the greatest invention because it acts a great source of all resources. In the upcoming future , people will not purchase any kinds of hardbooks or papers which are printed as all of the readable materials available on internet and that are completely free. I completely agreed with the statement because according to my consideration people can able to save a huge amount of money and no tence about steal or lost of books as people do not bear physical copies with them.
First and foremost for books and newspaper people have to spend a lots of cash . Because books and newspaers are normally printed in paper and a huge amount of money are spent during printing also for the paper and ink materials. But due to internet and other advanced tecnhology all books are now also find in soft copies and comperately cheap than hard books and some books are compkletly free of cost. For example, all newspapers have their own online portal from where they can read recent news both domestic and international without purchasing physical one.
Another important point should be considered that, books are really valuable and they are difficult to carry. Sometimes burglars transpass and stole vauleable books which are well worthy enough from residence places or from the libraries. As the mass availability of internet connection , people generally prefer read from pdf based files rather than heavy pages . For instance, students usually enjoy pdf based books because they are more convenient and no fear of loss their vauleable things as all items available in their smart devices .
In conclusion, it can be assumed that, people can now spend money to purchase other itemsn and they always able to keep they mind from stress as they have proper internet connection. Overall, broadband connection really a blessing and help people in various way.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you completely agree that online access will replace printed books and newspapers, and both body paragraphs give relevant reasons. The cost argument is supported by the comparison between printed production and free or cheaper digital copies, with online newspaper portals as an example. The second paragraph adds convenience and reduced risk of losing or having books stolen. However, the response does not fully examine the claim that people will be able to read everything online without paying; the discussion of free access is brief, and the conclusion shifts to spending money on other items rather than directly weighing whether printed materials will disappear. Develop this qualification and explain the future prediction more fully to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present separate reasons, and a conclusion restates the general position. Signposting such as “First and foremost,” “Another important point,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the structure. However, some links feel mechanical, and a few sentences do not connect smoothly to the point they are meant to support. For example, the discussion of burglars stealing books is followed by a broader claim about internet access and PDFs without clearly explaining the relationship. The conclusion also introduces the idea of keeping one’s mind free from stress, which has not been developed earlier. Use clearer links between claims and examples, and ensure each paragraph progresses directly from its main idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “printed,” “soft copies,” “online portal,” “physical copies,” and “internet connection,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “domestic and international” news. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “newspaers,” “tecnhology,” “comperately,” “transpass,” and “vauleable.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “a great source of all resources” and “pdf based files.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. A more controlled range of topic vocabulary would make your arguments clearer and more convincing without relying on repeated references to books, internet, and money.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a relative clause in “from where they can read recent news.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur across the response. Examples include “people can able to save,” “a huge amount of money are spent,” “people generally prefer read,” and “broadband connection really a blessing.” Some sentences are also joined or punctuated awkwardly, as in the opening paragraph’s long sentence. Practise building accurate clauses with modal verbs and infinitives, and check subject–verb agreement and articles. More reliable control of these patterns would allow your range of sentence structures to communicate ideas more smoothly.
