In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the future, people will not buy printed newspaper or because they will can read everything they want online through mobile or other devices without paying. I fully agree with people will be should read newspaper or books online rather than purchase physical.

On the one hand, if people read online newspaper so it have multiple benefits for him because of people can read any place and at any time also they not require to pay for newspaper or purchase it so they can easily read it and after that they have no issue of store it and fall on land. For example, in India , young generation read news on e-newspaper or through social media so no cost require for newspaper and they can read easily at their home, school or any place.

On the other hand, if people not buy newspaper so it have some disadvantages also like media and other company who print newspaper their business lost and other people lost their job who do work in media or newspaper company so it have also some disadvantages. For example, Now days, most of people prefer to read news from phone or television so newspaper company get loss in their printing work so worker fire from their jobs.

In conclusion, both perspective true for their own side but i recommend for people to read newspaper online because of it give waste in our home and once read it after it will not use and not need to pay for it.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the shift toward online media and the impact on printed materials. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you present both sides, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the point about 'storage' is mentioned but not fully explored in a broader context. To improve, ensure that each paragraph provides a clear, well-supported argument that directly relates to the prompt's premise of 'not paying' for content. The conclusion is present but could more effectively summarize the main points rather than introducing new justifications.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'on the one hand' and 'on the other hand' are used correctly, but internal sentence transitions are weak. For example, 'if people read online newspaper so it have multiple benefits' lacks proper logical flow. Additionally, referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the use of 'it' without a clear antecedent. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. You frequently use words like 'newspaper', 'read', and 'disadvantages' without much variation. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'fall on land' (which is unclear) and 'worker fire from their jobs' (should be 'workers are fired'). To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and collocations, such as 'digital transition', 'economic repercussions', or 'accessibility', rather than relying on simple, everyday language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'it have multiple benefits'), article usage (e.g., 'read newspaper'), and sentence structure (e.g., 'people will be should read'). You rely heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences often result in errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically verb tenses and pluralization. Practicing the correct use of modal verbs and passive voice will also help you achieve a more formal, academic tone suitable for this task.
