In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Student answer (Band 6.5)

Technological advancement has changed the priorities of people regarding reading tools. Some argue that nobody will go with printed media because reading through digital platforms will be easily reachable. I strongly agree with this view point as it provides us with a convenient way to learn everything of our choice and interest.

Firstly, digital learning make is feasible to acquire anything on hand. We can read on our gadgets like mobile phones and on laptops at anytime. Moreover we can get through the material of our preference. For instance most of the websites are free of cost these days students can attain information about their subjects. A case study showed the students who acquire education online were more satisfied as compared to others.

On the other hand, there are some shortcomings associated with printed media learning. The biggest concern is about time. in today,s busy world no body get enough time to sit and read a newspaper or book. Additionally, physical learning make people stressed and lead them to fatigue. when someone is reading he or she body have to focus on large scale. Consequently this make people unhealthy. for instance now a days most of the young children's prefer to study online in order to stay sharp and quick.

To conclude, I am of the opinion that although, physical learning also have some benefits, digital platforms are for more effective and considerably cheap. Online learning has become a crucial part in our day to day life. Whereas, ratio to choose printed media will decrease in future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of digital media. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The argument regarding physical health and fatigue caused by reading printed books is not well-supported and feels illogical, which weakens the overall persuasiveness of the essay. While the prompt asks about the future of printed newspapers and books, the essay focuses heavily on 'digital learning' rather than the broader consumption of media. To improve, ensure that your supporting points are logically sound and directly address the specific implications of the prompt, such as the accessibility and cost-effectiveness of digital versus physical formats.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Moreover', and 'Consequently' to link sentences. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'On the other hand' used to introduce a point that doesn't strictly contrast with the previous paragraph's focus on digital benefits. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to create a more natural, sophisticated connection between your arguments.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the reader to understand your position. You use some relevant terms like 'technological advancement', 'digital platforms', and 'convenient'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'attain information' instead of 'access information' and 'reading through digital platforms will be easily reachable'. The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and there is a reliance on basic phrasing. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'digital learning make is feasible', 'in today,s busy world', and 'no body get enough time'. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and punctuation, such as the misuse of commas and apostrophes. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage would significantly improve your accuracy.
