In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the future, because of more technology nobody will buy printed newspaper or books because they will get it from online throw internet without paying for it. As per my view i completely disagree with this. In this essay i discuss my statement.
On the one hand, nowadays with a modern technology everyone has excess to read newspaper, story books, journal and many other items everywhere and anytime in their smartphone or laptop or computer. Furthermore, in google and news app and other website people can find all types of reading data like what they want. Through this they have not to carry any types of books or newspapers with them so it is plus point. Also, all this materials are free in website so they have not to pay money for any kinds of news. In addition, some people find online reading very easy rather than printed notes.
On the other hand, some people only prefer printed newspapers, books and other reading materials for reading. Because they think there is a emotion in printed notes. For example, old age people mostly prefer to read printed books rather than online reading because in their whole life they never use this kind of reading so, they take time to use for it. In opposite, young generation easily accept new technology so they like online reading rather than printed. young people feel sometimes boring with printed books.
In conclusion, with the use of technology in the future people would like to reading online newspaper, books and other reading but printed reading is also as important as online reading. Because it contains feelings. So, online reading never fully replace to printed reading.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the statement. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that printed books have 'emotion' and that older generations prefer them, these points are not fully extended with strong supporting arguments or examples. The discussion on online reading is also quite repetitive, focusing heavily on the idea of it being 'free' and 'easy'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more nuanced arguments, such as the tactile experience of reading or the reliability of printed sources, and ensure that your conclusion directly reinforces your main arguments rather than just restating them.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices like 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' to signal shifts in your writing. However, the internal cohesion within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'also' and 'because'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly when using pronouns like 'it' or 'this' without a clear antecedent. To improve, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each sentence flows naturally from the previous one.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your main points clearly. However, the range is limited and there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'excess to read' (instead of 'access to'), 'reading data' (instead of 'content' or 'material'), and 'in opposite' (instead of 'conversely'). There is also a tendency to repeat basic words like 'reading' and 'books'. To improve, focus on learning collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary to replace generic terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'all this materials are'), article usage (e.g., 'in google'), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'they have not to carry'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically the use of articles, pluralization, and modal verbs, before attempting more complex structures.
