Student answer (Band 6.5)

In the future nobody will buy printed newspaper or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. Technology development the internet and enhance the thinking of the idea same as human brain. It has benefical view to read online without charge. It will save a lot of time and potencial. On the other side, few old individual love to read newspapers. So I partly agree with this view.

On the one hand, there are the strong reason to avoid read newspaper or book with paying because it's painful for local people. For example, the words of the newspaper written in small style and paper colour is combination of white and black. So, it's difficult to find theory or words. To expalin it, there is another reason to use internet instead of buy newspapers is that using technology to read anything is fast way. You can arrange the size and theme of the patterns of the words. It's a positive view to read the news and books on online. For instance, It saves a lot of time and you can read everything in everywhere.

On the other hand, it is unrealistic to assume that nobody will buy printed books or newspaper in the future. To elaborate it, many readers still prefer to read physical since it reduce the eyestrain caused by screen. One more reason to buy printed books or newspapers is that you can provides gifts of books to your children. Physical study is better is compare to online system. For instance, Physical study makes us to energatic and easy to learn things.

In essence, I partly agree because online reading will become more common, but printed books and newspaper will not disappear completely.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout, acknowledging both sides of the argument. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the 'small style' of newspaper text is not a strong or academic point. The explanation of why physical books are 'energatic' is also unclear and lacks logical depth. To improve, you should focus on providing more sophisticated arguments, such as the impact of digital literacy, the convenience of accessibility versus the tactile experience of reading, and the economic implications for publishers. The ideas are relevant but require more detailed elaboration to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'For instance' to link ideas. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and the transition between sentences can be abrupt. For example, the sentence 'Technology development the internet and enhance the thinking of the idea same as human brain' is disjointed and lacks a clear connection to the surrounding text. Improving the use of referencing and ensuring that sentences follow a logical progression would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. You rely on simple terms and occasionally use words incorrectly, such as 'potencial' (likely meaning potential/time-saving) and 'energatic' (energetic). There are also instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'provide gifts of books to your children' and 'physical study'. To improve, you should aim to use more academic collocations and precise terminology related to the topic of digital media and traditional publishing. Expanding your range of vocabulary will help you express your ideas with greater clarity and sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'few old individual love'), missing articles, and incorrect word forms (e.g., 'avoid read newspaper'). Some sentences are fragmented or lack proper structure, such as 'Technology development the internet and enhance the thinking of the idea same as human brain.' While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and punctuation prevents a higher score. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors will significantly improve your performance.
