Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the future people cannot buy printed publications such as books or newspapers because it will be easy to available an online platform in for free of charge. I partially agree with this notion and my reasons for agreement are discussed in the following paragraphs.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a partial agreement. However, the development of ideas is limited and sometimes contradictory. For instance, you argue that online content is free, but later mention that some subscriptions are more expensive than physical shops, which weakens your central argument. The ideas regarding the health impacts of digital devices are somewhat tangential to the core question of whether people will stop buying printed media. To improve, ensure that your arguments directly support your position and provide more logical, consistent reasoning rather than listing disparate points. The conclusion repeats the contradiction rather than synthesising your position effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'To initiate with' and 'At many times' are not natural English collocations. The progression of ideas within paragraphs is disjointed; for example, the transition from discussing e-books to the health effects of phones lacks a clear logical link. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the vague mention of 'it' in 'it damage their eyes'. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic structures. There are several instances of awkward word choices and incorrect collocations, such as 'easy to available', 'in free of cost', and 'stationary shop' (which should be 'stationery'). You also use 'it' repeatedly to refer to different concepts, which limits the precision of your expression. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary, including less common lexical items related to technology and media, and pay closer attention to word forms and standard collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'newspaper is easy', 'people behavior will be becomes'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or contain errors in complex structures, such as 'at that time they easy to open up'. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically verb tenses and pluralisation, before attempting more complex structures.
