Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the future of printed media and the cost of online content. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you provide reasons for your position, some arguments, such as the claim that internet services are not free, are underdeveloped and lack clear logical links to the main prompt. The position is stated in the introduction but is not consistently maintained throughout the essay, as the conclusion introduces a slightly different perspective. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-supported idea that directly relates to the prompt's core question about the future of physical media.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as the abrupt transition 'Firstly, physical hand work read no other excuse.' Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult to track the subject matter. The logical progression between sentences is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors, which hinders the flow of ideas. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore,' 'consequently,' 'in contrast') more naturally and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choices, such as 'physical hand work' instead of 'printed books' and 'get into the other disturbance' instead of 'cause distractions.' Some terms are used incorrectly, such as 'whether condition' (weather) and 'pridiction' (prediction). To improve, you should expand your range of vocabulary by learning collocations related to technology and media, and pay closer attention to spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence structure (e.g., 'internet service are not a free of uses'). Many sentences are fragmented or lack the necessary components to be grammatically complete. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, these are often faulty and lead to confusion. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and practice proofreading to catch common errors in tense and pluralization.
