In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Student answer (Band 5.0)

Well the text said that , In future no one will purchase printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying .

Yes it is true that in future a lot of people do not want to buy physical newspapers because they have access to the internet easily , so they search for their needs and on just a few second their needs are fullfiled by only command .

But this is not free of cost , we must have to pay for bills of internet otherwise we do not full fill over wishes .

Every thing in this world are more easy with internet , no matter what we have to watch or read everything is just away from one click .

But yes this is true that no one will ever pay for newspapers or no one get daily newspaper in morning on their dinning so they can read fresh news in morning . Every one has smartphones and they also have internet on it so they cant give money for physical copies of newspapers because smart phone has everything , means giving you a fresh daily news about daily life , also give you update about country situations daily .

In conclusion:

It is true that no one will buy for physical copies of newspapers , they are more costly , people have access to internet which is less costly then newspapers and everything in away from only one click. People give any command to the internet and whatever they want to read about are in front of them just in one click so yeah this is true .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the shift toward online media. However, the development is limited. You agree with the statement but provide repetitive arguments about the convenience of smartphones and the internet. The response lacks depth; for instance, you mention that internet access is not 'free of cost' but do not explore how this affects the future of paid journalism or the survival of traditional publishing houses. To improve, you should provide more nuanced arguments, such as the role of digital subscriptions or the cultural value of physical books, to fully explore the 'to what extent' aspect of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. While there is an introduction, body, and conclusion, the paragraphing is weak, and the flow of ideas is disjointed. You rely heavily on repetitive transitions like 'but yes' and 'in conclusion'. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link sentences logically; for example, the transition between the cost of internet and the convenience of smartphones is abrupt. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'nevertheless') and ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed central idea.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. You frequently use simple phrases like 'everything', 'needs', and 'one click'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'full fill over wishes' (fulfill our wishes) and 'giving you a fresh daily news'. The range is insufficient to express complex ideas about digital transformation or media consumption. To improve, you should incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to technology, journalism, and economics, and work on using words in their correct collocations rather than relying on simple, high-frequency words.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('Every thing in this world are', 'no one get daily newspaper'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are run-on or lack proper punctuation, such as the opening sentence and the conclusion. The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and punctuation, and practice combining simple sentences into complex ones using subordinating conjunctions like 'although', 'while', or 'because'.
