Student answer (Band 5.5)
I strongly agree with this statement that in the future no one will buy the printed newspapers and books beacuse they will be able to read and study everything online without paying a penny.
The main reason is that in the current era peoples tendency towards the techonolgy increases significantly. now a days everyone has his own mobile phone and laptop with the access of internet as well. a individual can read the newspaper online and also study any required books without paying any expense. current education system also started to moving on technology. for instance, in the develop countries the trend to study with the help of books has now been almost finished or close to it. every student has his own tablet and which can easily study the books online.
In the current phase only old generation are used to read the printed newspaper and books. and the tendency of this generation also started moving online. because its easy to read and study online on just one click without any time indepency and expenses as well. through online you can watch news and social media also provide the truly news which we can not expect on newspapers. because newspaper is published under goverment institution thats why they do not able to publish the right news against the goverment. but through online like social media which provide authentic news.
Conclusion, the trend to read the printed newspapers and books will be almost finished in futue. because peoples like to read all through online which help them to save their money.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. The argument regarding the 'death' of printed media is a strong stance, but the supporting points—such as the claim that social media provides more 'authentic' news than government-regulated newspapers—are logically weak and lack nuance. The essay would benefit from exploring the counter-argument (e.g., the reliability of professional journalism versus online misinformation) to provide a more balanced and sophisticated discussion. While the position is clear throughout, the ideas are not fully extended, keeping this in the lower-mid range.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is often disrupted by mechanical transitions and repetitive sentence structures. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often basic or misused, such as starting sentences with 'Conclusion,' or 'because' as a sentence fragment. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the progression of ideas within paragraphs feels disjointed. For example, the jump from mobile phone usage to the education system lacks a smooth transition. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the coherence of the writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'beacuse', 'techonolgy', 'develop countries', 'futue') and some awkward word choices, such as 'time indepency' and 'truly news'. The range of vocabulary is limited, relying on simple descriptors rather than more academic or topic-specific terminology. To improve, you should focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring correct spelling of common academic terms. Expanding your vocabulary to include more sophisticated synonyms for 'online' or 'printed' would also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'peoples tendency... increases'), incorrect article usage (e.g., 'a individual'), and sentence fragments (e.g., 'because its easy to read...'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with many sentences lacking proper capitalization or ending in incorrect places. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence boundary control and subject-verb agreement is essential.
