In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Student answer (Band 6.0)

It has been observed that, digital technology going to leave its footprints all over the places. Although, a considerable number of individuals assumed that they will prioritize tech tools more over the printed newspapers to get information about world, I agree with this statement at large extent. My inclination is elaborated in ensuring paragraph with relavent examples.

To begin with, easily accessibility of sources, is one of the prominent reason why people running after technology instead of paper reading. Digital technology not only use to connect with loved ones, but also gives flexibility to get numerous range of platforms just to receive one given knowledge. For instance, Apple company provide their own apps in their tech tools like apple news, where they updates on daily basis internationally so why we need to carry papers, if we have world in our hands. Not only this, staying updated without waiting is also gives preference to digital assets rather than waiting for newspapers or books till next morning even it could be late because of weather conditions, individuals just searched on social media at fast paced.

Furthermore, printed papers mostly have limited information about any news namely publishers have to be under specific area to print or write. while, on digital technology, civilians can search on various platform such as news channels , instagram so on to receive same information from different angles which is less costly compared to the books even financial budget of measurable people do not allow them to spend on paper.

In contrast , trustworthy data on paper always stand in the opposition of technology. To illustrate my point, I would exemplify like on social media especially Youtube and instagram , people post various fake news to attract people and artificial intelligence makes it more ordinary to differentiate whether its original or copy which assists them to generate more revenue by leading people to wrong pathway.

To conclude my perspective, I would say keeping world in pocket every-time and stay updated without standing in the queue, forces them to be attached with modern technology despite the fact of reputable data they get from books and newspaper.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed the prompt and maintained a clear position throughout the essay. You provided relevant arguments regarding accessibility, cost, and the variety of information available online. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. For instance, the counter-argument regarding 'trustworthy data' is introduced but not fully integrated into your overall stance, and the explanation of how AI contributes to misinformation is a bit vague. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explored with more precise examples and a stronger link back to the core question of whether printed media will disappear entirely.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', and 'In contrast', which help guide the reader. However, some of the transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'My inclination is elaborated in ensuring paragraph'. Additionally, there are instances where referencing is unclear, and some sentences are linked in a way that feels repetitive. Improving the variety of your linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus will help improve the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'digital technology', 'prominent reason', and 'trustworthy data'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and awkward collocations, such as 'running after technology', 'measurable people', and 'ordinary to differentiate'. These errors occasionally make the text feel unnatural. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary. For example, instead of 'running after', use 'adopting' or 'embracing'. Expanding your range to include more sophisticated, topic-specific terminology would help you achieve a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'digital technology going to leave', 'individuals just searched'), missing articles, and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'not only use to connect'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like tense consistency and article usage before attempting more complex structures.
