Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of the shift to digital media. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention convenience and environmental benefits, the arguments lack depth and specific evidence. For instance, the claim that 'nobody will buy' printed media is a strong absolute that requires more nuanced justification or counter-argument consideration to reach a higher band. The ideas are relevant, but the explanation remains repetitive, focusing heavily on personal convenience rather than broader societal or economic implications of the decline of print media.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'instead of that' and 'sluggishly' are used incorrectly, which disrupts the flow of ideas. Additionally, the transition between the environmental argument and the conclusion is abrupt. While there is a logical progression from the introduction to the conclusion, the internal cohesion within paragraphs is weak, often relying on simple sentence structures rather than sophisticated linking words to connect complex ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary range is limited and often repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'convenient' and 'good', and there are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'sluggishly' to describe the disappearance of books, or 'visualized explanation' which does not quite capture the intended meaning. Spelling errors are frequent (e.g., 'convinient', 'availabliety', 'tress', 'approchable'), which occasionally forces the reader to pause. To improve, you should focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring correct spelling of common terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as 'It is often argue that' (should be 'argued') and 'people's going to adapt' (should be 'people are going to adapt'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods, and incorrect capitalization of 'i'. The frequency of these errors is high, which impacts the overall clarity of the writing. Increasing the variety of sentence structures and focusing on subject-verb agreement will help improve your score.
