IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In the future nobody will buy printed newspapers or books because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Student answer (Band 5.5)

There is growing belief that printed newspaper and books will disappear due to free online source. While digital reading platforms popularity growing day by day, But I completely disagree with this view that online materials will banished from consumer markets. Some physical newspapers and books are vintage and its a symbol of culture to Certain demographic group.

There are several factor why disagree with question statement. One of the main reason is that limited - edition books as cultural artifacts and its maintain irreplaceable qualities. Some people like to collect vintage , traditional story book like as harry potter, lords of ring and some of others. Moreover a certain group of younger boy love to read manga , comic book , and they have a competition who has strong and so much rare manga book collection. As a result they go to library and buy physical book for their collection.

Another significant reason is that older people love to reading physical newspaper for their time pas. Elderly populations in countries like France, Italy , Portugal, and Spain show strong love to familiar newspaper formats. And there also go to free bookstore where they peacefully read book and enjoy there free time . Some where build communities around physical books. For instance , millennial vintage reading group one of the famous community in Europe and they also hosting bookfair and some other events about rare prints .

In conclusion, while digital platform will dominate practical reading needs , printed materials will endure as cultural symbol and luxury item . Ebook using will increasing for school study but practical book will be irreplaceable .
