Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the upcoming age the people will not prefer to spend their money in buying the printed newspapers or books for the reason that they will be able to read everything they want online without spending money .I partially agree to this statement and my opinion is
given in the ensuing paragraph.
Initially, it can be seen that the people are getting advanced day by day due to the fact that the technology is making things more effortless for the people .Furthermore, these days the people are less interested in reading a newspaper or a book as everybody is seem to be using their phones and other technology equipments .For instance ,if the individuals wants to read a book or get awareness about the current circumstances in the world. they will get all the facilities on the internet and on numerous websites on their mobile phones .They found it very easy as the would not have to spend their money n buying the stuff for reading and so on.
On the contrary, there are also some drawbacks of it , as the habit of reading enhances the reading skills and vocabulary of the people. Nevertheless, this depriving habit of not reading might worsen the academic situation of most children .Such as, if the children will not have the fluent reading skills they might get difficulties in their further education.
In conclusion to conclude that, there are some merits of reading books online .Nonetheless, there are more demerits of it as it might worsen people's reading skills .My perspective is that reading books is a good habit so it should not be vanished.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the shift to online reading and the potential decline of printed media. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention the convenience of technology and the importance of reading skills, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. For instance, you mention 'academic situation' but do not explain how online reading specifically impacts this compared to traditional books. The position is clear, but the conclusion is slightly repetitive and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented. To improve, ensure each body paragraph explores the 'why' and 'how' of your claims more thoroughly.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'For instance', and 'On the contrary'. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly misused, such as 'In conclusion to conclude that', which is redundant. The progression of ideas is generally easy to follow, but the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the connection between 'the stuff for reading' and the preceding sentences is slightly disjointed. Improving the variety and natural flow of linking words would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'getting advanced', 'making things more effortless', and 'stuff for reading'. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'technology equipments' (equipment is uncountable) and 'depriving habit'. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic and precise terminology would significantly improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('if the individuals wants', 'everybody is seem to be'), incorrect article usage, and punctuation errors (e.g., spaces before commas). The sentence 'In conclusion to conclude that' is grammatically incorrect. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To reach a higher band, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and refining your use of complex sentence structures.
