Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, but the development of ideas is significantly hampered by the repetition of the entire introduction and the first body paragraph. The essay is incomplete, as it cuts off mid-sentence at the end. Because the text repeats itself, the actual content provided is quite limited and lacks the depth required for a higher band. While the position is clear, the failure to complete the essay and the inclusion of redundant text prevents a thorough exploration of the topic, resulting in an under-developed argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay suffers from severe structural issues due to the repetition of the first two paragraphs. This makes the progression of ideas illogical and confusing. While there are some attempts at cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'On Other hand', their effectiveness is undermined by the repetitive nature of the text. Paragraphing is present, but the content within the paragraphs is not managed well, and the abrupt ending further disrupts the overall flow and coherence of the piece.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate. Phrases like 'chunk of masses' and 'cheaps and with way' are unnatural and demonstrate a lack of control over collocation and register. There are also frequent errors in word choice, such as 'indulgness' and 'distrube'. While the student attempts to use some topic-related vocabulary, the range is insufficient to express complex ideas clearly. The repetition of the same vocabulary across the repeated paragraphs further highlights the limited range available to the writer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('trend... are declining'), incorrect article usage, and awkward sentence construction ('most of young individual start'). Punctuation is also problematic, particularly with the misuse of apostrophes in 'photo's' and 'individual's'. The range of structures is limited, relying mostly on simple or poorly constructed complex sentences. The errors are persistent throughout the text, and the lack of control over basic grammar significantly lowers the score for this criterion.
